Enough of the talking about it - lets do this French thing

In the years BC (before children), Campbell and I would talk a lot about how we wanted our kids to learn a second language. And by learn, we mean the degree of fluency where there are not just words but expressions with a full complement of cultural nuances and idiosyncratic hand gestures and facial expressions. In our BC years, Campbell and I travelled to France many times, and we loved it. We loved the food, the countryside, the language, and the culture.

So after 12+yrs of talking about it and finding reasons why we couldn't just 'up and go' to France for an extended period - We decided it was time. An initial plan for a 3week trip turned into 3+months.

A winter living in the Alps. Kids attending school. Campbell and I spending time - doing a bit of this and that...when we are not on the slopes.

To call it a holiday would be underestimating the effort to plan and the mindset of 'settling into routine'. It feels mostly exciting with a side of uncertainty - which is a delicious recipe for an adventure. And as is always the case for me, adventure sparks creativity and when I'm away from my art means I tend to write.

This will be the space where I muse about our adventure and anything else adjacent and amusing.
